St Mary's is a small and friendly Church with a mixed congregation of all ages.
There is a service every Sunday at 9.30am. We have a lay worship team who are responsible for leading some of the services. Music is a mix of modern songs and traditional hymns led by our music group.
We welcome all ages and have 4 contemporary style All Age Services each month two of which are communion services following Common Worship. These services are lively affairs with drama, music, quizzes and other activities following the theme of the service. Children of all ages are welcome and are encouraged to participate (as are all the adults!). We also hold one (8am) said Holy Communion Service (1662).
The beautiful Victorian building was commissioned in 1899 by Field Marshall Sir John Linthorn Simmons, G.C.B., G.C.M.G, R.E., and completed on 6th October 1900. The area within the Church is all open making it ideal for children’s groups and church social events as well as acting as rehearsal space for local bands. We are fundraising to build a connected Church Room so that we can expand to encompass a small meeting space, kitchen, toilets and an office.
We would love to meet you, so come and join in whether you live locally, are down staying for the weekend, or just passing through on your way to the West Country.
