Children and Young People

There are many young families in our area and through the various groups we run we are in contact with over 100 young people from babies to teenagers each week.

All the groups are run by volunteers who are fully CRB checked.

In addition to the children’s groups, children are welcome in all Church services.

For specifically child friendly services, all 9.30am services at St Mary’s are All Age and St John’s and Churchill Methodist have a monthly family service.

Churchill Primary School is an Anglican Foundation School. The Churchwardens of St Johns are the trustees of the primary school and as such appoint two governors on their behalf  (usually one from St Johns and one from St Mary’s).  The Anglican incumbent also serves on the school governing body.  The Christian Ethos in the school was given a ‘good’ in the most recent Ofsted inspection.  The school actively works with local Christians of all denominations.  In addition over 60 children from the school attend one of the groups we run locally.

Churchill Academy  is the Secondary School and Sixth Form College for the area and is situated within the Parish of Churchill and Langford.   As it is next door to St John’s church it takes full advantage of the historical features of the church with both maths and science activities finding useful resources on offer. The middle school hold their annual carol service in the church. Music provides a strong link with the school. Tied in with their Performing Arts status, the school have provided a splendid grand piano for both teaching and performances in the fine acoustic of St John's..
